Starlancers is recruiting for pilots experienced and/or interested in PvP.
We are a 3 year old corp with a history of small gang Empire fighting as well as a year spent in alliances fighting alongside the Northern Coalition in Pure Blind and also with Insurgency in Venal fighting against, well, just about everyone For the last several months Starlancers has been lying fallow but now we're restarting the corp again from scratch - rebuilding numbers and aiming to be better, stronger, faster than ever before.
Starlancers have always been, and will again be, warriors with honour. Our immediate focus is on recruiting a core membership and developing cohesion as a fighting force through direct experience by low sec and 0.0 pirate hunting. In the medium term we aim to use this cohesive force in a return to the professional merc biz - fighting on contract without resorting to piracy as a filler when out of work or bored.
Due to the restart nature of the corp opportunities for advancement will be excellent. We have also maintained friendships, even through the recent period of inactivity, with highly trusted marketeers and industrialists who are always willing to buy from, sell to, or manufacture for Starlancers.
What we're looking for most from our applicants is a good fit with the current members and friends of Starlancers - people who can understand what it means to fight hard but with dignity, honour, camaraderie and an enduring sense of fun. This is more important by far than your skillpoints or how many shiny ships you can fly - skills can be learnt over weeks and months but an arse hole can take decades to change.
If you're interested or want to know more look us up ingame via the corp's public channel 'Bar - Lancers' or wander over to the recruitment section of our forum at http://www.starlancers.net |

Cheers Shar, you've pretty much summed up what we aim for the corp to be again.
This phase of recruitment's running for the next 2 weeks, following which we'll see when another intake is needed. |

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 16/01/2009 16:56:08 Apologies Rook - it seems like one of the highly trained wombats who maintain our site may have been a little over zealous, I got a mail notification about you signing up but your details were gone by the time I got to the site, presumably rejected on the false assumption it was a bot. Rest assured the wombat in question has been sent to our 'retraining' facility in Passari where it will be strenuously impressed upon him to not make the same mistake again. If you register again we'll get it sorted; in the meantime drop by the Bar whenever you're ingame - for a limited time we'll be serving every visitor with a complimentary wom... erm ... beef burger along with a beverage of their choice |

Can you believe? - Keanu Reeves is lined up to play Spike in the Cowboy Bebop live action movie. What were they thinking? Visit our public channel to discuss this and other pressing issues of the day. Oh, and did I mention we're still recruiting?

Update: we've now signed up to join System Shock Initiative alliance, and so we'll have access to 0.0 space along with a place to rest up and dock as soon as we finish our recruitment and move out. Our aims have not changed though - we're still recruitng for people interested in pvp, we'll still be roaming 0.0 for targets, and we'll still be doing it with honour and without piracy. |

Originally by: Wotlankor We shall lookforward to meeting the Starlancers in battle as they carry with them a legacy of fine pilots and honorable behaviour.
And the suns shall flicker from the explosionns and to the sound of our howitzer and auto cannons.
See you in Catch.
Just don't tell Essque - I had to work myself up to resetting our standings as I think he may never forgive me for taking the corp over to the other side But then again, fighting alongside someone with honour or fighting against them with honour - whichever we do I hope we'll aquit ourselves well |

So angry Ed, to jump on a recruitment thread with unfounded slander.
Maybe you can refresh my memory, as I'm afraid I don't remember you. Actually, don't bother.
Instead maybe you'd do me the service of actually reading the OP. Then you'd see that I'm restarting the corp from scratch (which is to say the number of original members is quite limited). And since I have no memory of a war with you or your corp (nor can I find kill mails for either side) I suspect it's because I wasn't there at the time (assuming it happened at all and you've not mistaken us for someone else in your ill-tempered rush to attack my thread - I say this because I not only have no memory of you from war in Eve, I have no memory of anyone in my corp making mention of you either). So regardless of whether your accusation is accurate or false, it's being levelled against different people and, in fact, a different (new) corp. Basically, therefore, it's completely without merit.
Here's a little corp history though, just to clarify things for you. We began as the pvp wing of CIC alliance 3 and some years ago, where we defended the alliance and led other pilots in pvp against a number of different attackers (including, but not limited to, KIA and REPO). Feel free to contact CIC to check this out. Later we left CIC and set out as a small Empire based merc corp. We fought a number of wars there, some successful and some not. We then moved out into Pure Blind as members of Forces of Freedom, and later Mordu's Angels, and we fought there against local pirates such as Agony and also flew alongside NC corps and alliances while MC was active in the area on behalf of BoB. After leaving MOA we moved to Venal and took up with Insurgency, contributing regularly as pilots and with Starlancer FC's in their struggle. Again - feel free to contact people from any of these groups for comment on our involvement and on our ability. After leaving the north and Insurgency, Starlancers returned to Empire and took part in Faction War on behalf of the Minmatar Militia. I was out of game during this period but am aware of a number of Starlancer pilots taking part in FW gangs as well. We then moved into a period of corp inactivity as members tired of FW and became involved with RL concerns - this lasted for several months up to the present time when I began to look at rebuilding the corp (from scratch - did I mention that?).
Frankly, Ed, why you felt the need to make an unprovoked attack (on a recruitment thread of all places) is beyond me. Unless it's the only kind of griefing you feel you can achieve any victory in - bad mouthing a small, startup corp on the forums as if you have some kind of imagined justification for your poor behaviour. Honestly - some people really have nothing better to do with their time
Oh and by the way, thanks for the bump

Edited by: Nuala Reece on 02/02/2009 17:58:02 Well, further investigation has yielded the following result - no one from Starlancers, past or present, remembers war with Ed or his corp. This leads me to one of the following conclusions:
a) Ed and his corp declared war on Starlancers during the period when none of our members were active, thereby inadvertantly re-enacting one of the infamous fails of the medieval Crusades where the crusaders laid seige to a fort after all the occupants had left, taking several days to realize they faced no resistance.
b) Ed and his corp declared war on one of the other groups whose name includes Starlancer (or a variation on the theme) and the experience of being denied his fix of popping noobs in 1.0 systems has created some kind of Pavlovian response to the name, bypassing rational thought and leaving him incapable of distinguishing one group from another. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
c) Ed's years of piracy and griefing have scarred his fragile soul so deeply and indelibly he no longer knows what he's talking about most of the time . He galumphs his way across the vasty wastes of Eve and its forums like some kind of insane Jabberwock, uffishly burbling his frumious nonsense at each random stop
Who knows which of these is the real answer?
Anyway, the matter dealt with and moving on - our recruitment remains open to pilots interested in sharing their pvp experience, or learning it from those who've done it before. We'll no doubt meet other people who would like nothing more than to knock us down, with words or with weapons, and we'll face them all the same - with honour as keen as a vorpal blade, and an assortment of big f-ing guns

Politics and economy in Eve that is We value our former members though and I've always been impressed that people continued using the Bar even when the corp itself was quiet. This means that if you come to our public channel there should always be someone who can tell you about us even if a recruiter or corp member isn't currently around.
With the first new intake completed we're about to move into an exciting new chapter of Starlancers history, and the door is still open for a few more pilots made of the right stuff. We'll be admitting a handful more of people over the next short while before closing recruitment temporarily in order to focus on developing cohesion among the new members. So now's the time to get over to our forum or into the public channel and make your interest known.

Well, you know what like - someone asks about how to fit their new ship I'll tell them to ask Essque on the forums, someone asks about the market I say I know one of the best marketeers in Eve, someone says they've just lost an expensive Caldari ship I point them at Args for support from someone who knows better than all of us what that's like
Recruitment is still ongoing, by the way, so join our public channel and pester Shar for advice on the market if I'm not there
